Currently, we are open the below hours during the winter. Wed-Friday: 3:00pm-5:00pm Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm Closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday However, orders and special appointments can be arranged through the "make an order/comment" page above which is available 24 hours a day. Complete the information and I will respond within 24 hours (Monday through Friday). Store hours will be updated during the month of January 2019. |
Welcome beekeepers to Albemarle Bee Company (ABC).
What can be said about our business that has not already been said? Here's my story. I was born into a commercial bee family. My dad ran a successful business starting in the '60s that continued well over 40 years. At an early age, I started learning the basics of beekeeping. I eventually took over many of the daily tasks of the family-owned business to include the very important queen grafting duties. Fast forward to a period when we bagan to see a large decrease in the bee population. Understanding that the honey bee is extremely important to the balance of nature, I became once again interested in beekeeping. About five years ago we decided to open our small family business which was ran out of our home. We quickly needed more room to serve our customers so on April 1, 2016, ABC opened our new store in New London, NC. These facilities allowed us to expand our services to the public where we offer startup packages, quality queens, and most common beekeeper supplies. Other items offered at ABC is Saturday Open Hive Inspections (weather permitting) to help the new bee keeper, provide a beekeeper school, and provide customer advice. We at ABC admit we don't know it all and understand there are various beekeeping strategies used by many excellent beekeepers.We strive for "continous learning" through beekeeper periodicals, beekeeper conferences, and relationships with other seasoned beekeepers.
